My baking tins rust. Enamel? Pyrex?

I've googled and I can see treatments for fixing them, but really I just want pans that don't rust to begin with. The ones I have are only a year old-ish and were coated in some kind of thing that was supposed to make them not stick-ish. That never worked and we've always used foil. I'm in a hard water area - I don't know if that matters. Anyway, I've just put enamel and pyrex dishes into a shopping cart. Have I really got to my mind 40's and not known that this is the right way forward, or am I still missing something?

I use a good old fashioned brillo pad to get rid of the rust on my baking time. are they just the regular metal ones, no non-stick or anything.

Mermaid tins aren't meant to go in the dishwasher. They're made of anodised aluminium. I've had some for 15 years and they're still perfect. I'll admit that washing them by hand is a pain in the arse but they're worth it!

Mine only rust if put in dishwasher.

If you use the oven daily, then I'd dry them thoroughly then put them back in your still warm oven ( and take them out before bed if it bothers you that much).

I use silicon tins and put them inside my old metal ones for rigidity. Smile It does the treat

I have Pyrex oven trays and dishes, they are fab because they clean so easily! Only minor down side is they are quite heavy.

I don't put tins in the dishwasher any longer and no rust, so I do think the dishwasher contributes to the problem.

I did get some great tins in Sainsbury's in their sale. I'm not sure what brand they were but they're really sturdy and don't warp when they go in the oven.

I've had them over a year, hand washed and they're as good as new still.
