Bad Housekeeping! - How do I shrink a wool jumper?

I am going to make a wool soaker from it so need it to go all felty and dense.
Do I just bung it in the machine at 90deg?

i need to shrink it fast to give me all day to try and make the damn thing! lol

that would do the trick... then tumble dry on hot.

My mum knitted (can you imagine?) wool vests for DD when she was born. I washed them the first time at 40c and they came out about barbie size
