red wine stain , is there any hope ?

Last night I spilt a whole glass of red on the pale carpet. A whole tub of salt and paper towel soaked up a lot but I didn't have any carpet shampoo.
Im out all day today, so can't do anything else till tonight. does anyone have any ideas for getting it out or is the carpet doomed?

Bicarbonate of soda worked on ours after everything else had failed.

Dr Beckmann stain remover is amazing. You can get it from sainsburys or online. Saved a white shirt from an entire glass of merlot.

When this happened to me I got a professional carpet cleaner out who spot cleaned it and it miraculously disappeared- it cost about £30 ( London )
He did say I was lucky as it wouldn't always be 100% successful friending on type of carpet but worth a try !

It depends a lot on your carpet but I was nervous of bleaching the carpet with home removal products
