Ants in kitchen

I have been finding ants on my counters recently. Is it the weather or could they be coming from somewhere else? It has been going on for a few days. I don't think I have left anything sugary out for them! Any suggestions on how to manage this?( I have had to move plenty of things into the counters over the past several months due to my toddler rummaging through the cupboards. )

I have had ants in the bathroom over the last 3 days too. Maybe it is now warm enough for them

There are masses of ants around already, they've even made a nest in one of my Bay trees, not sure what to do about that. In the house I've used similar to this type of thing and it worked

I had a war against ants one year. I tried everything but the only thing that worked was putting cinamon around the edges of the shelves of the cupboards. Read about it somewhere. No idea how it works!

Yes the bait stations mentioned above are the thing. My (old) house gets ants every year at some point so I always keep some handy so I can just put one out when I see them. Always seems to do the trick within about 24 hours.

I also use them outside as we seem to get ants nests in the lawn too. One of the traps under a brick to protect it from rain gets rid of them very quickly

I second the suggestion of ant stations under cupboards and cinnamon inside food cupboards. I have had awful problems with ants and these seem to work.
