tempur or other memory foam mattress?

we're getting a new mattress and dh loves tempur after sleeping on one a few months ago! dh has v physical job so hoping this will help him with his back. is it the case that the firmer the better for aching backs? any recommendations? is it worth splashing out on tempur or are other brands just as good? thank you

We got our Tempur mattress and bed from an eBay shop 10 years ago for 2k instead of 4k.

You have to give it 6 weeks to get used to it,but we can't sleep on anything else now, it's sooooooo comfortable. You will need the bed too as the mattress is about 15 stone iirc!

I have no experience of other brands but my tempur mattress is amazing. It was expensive but I have suffered for years with back problems and it is by far the best mattress I've tried. I also have a tempur pillow. Even the memory foam toppers you can buy cause backache for me. I would definitely recommend tempur mattresses!

We have a firm tempur mattress and it is just so nice to sleep on I love getting into bed. I love it and guests always comment too
