Don't use them together - they fizz away excitingly but cancel each out. What did you think you were buying them for???

To clean stuff with as I know people on here recommend them I just wondering how and what for people use them

my carpet and vacuum never really recovered from a borax and bi carb "freshener"

I have just used a paste of bicarbonate & white vinegar to clean the sole plate of my iron which was scorched. It worked really well.

Bicarb: sink stains, mug stsins, smelly carpets, particularly puke, scrubbing off soap scum or grease.

Vinegar: limescale, in a final rinse for towels or woollens to soften them, cleaning glass/windows, deodorising pissy leaks on carpets
