Rubber flooring in child's room?

Hi. Has anyone tried a rubber floor in their young child's room? We are expecting our first child and want to cover-up the existing carpet on a cold floor (we'd like a cleaner surface than carpet). My idea is the interlocking EVA tiles like they sometimes have at gyms. I've seen on the web that they have some non-industrial models that come in lots of colours (including some with letters and numbers for kids).
Thanks a lot.

sounds like quite a nice idea (seem to remember India Knight recommending Dalsouple in one of her articles) but I don't think you could lay it over carpet and it seems quite expensive.

How about cork - it's soft, warm and easy to clean, also cheap.
