Pls recommend me a fab set of saucepans

Budget - £100

I was hoping to grab a set from tescos on special offer, they looked like a good set but they've all gone.

I've seen two sets in Costco, they look expensive but have no idea of the quality. Has anyone any opinions about them?

What would you recommend generally as I'm hoping to still grab a bargain in the sales.

Just to add, I'd rather get a set of 3 of fantastic quality pans than a set of say 5 but cheaper quality iyswim.

TK Maxx/Homesense is your friend. You'll get a cracking set in there for that. We've had avalon for 6 years and they're great.

I have IKEA - recommended on here last year I have the pressure cooker and frying pan too.

Didn't buy a set as such just a few of the sizes I typically use - love them!

Wash well, don't burn on (unless I'm cooking but they clean very easily!!)

Pro cook do fantastic cook wear. I've got a set of their professional range and I really like them. Really very good quality and excellent value for money. They have deals on all the time too so if you see something you like but it's not on offer, wait a couple of weeks and it will be.

I like my Meyer stainless steel set. Washes well by hand or in the dishwasher. Has straining holes in the lid.

I had a ceramic Salter one for Christmas and it's a game changer. I love it so much I intend to buy all the different sizes. They are currently half price in Sainsburys. Nothing sticks, and I know it sounds odd but I have found making gravy and sauces quicker than in my old stainless steel ones.

I have had the stainless steel ones for 20 years though so in terms of longevity they have done well - £20 for the set in Argos all those years ago.

Thanks very much for all the recommendations, although it's makes it harder now! I was hoping one brand would unanimously stand out. Ive heard a lot about the Ikea ones and John Lewis, and Stellar and TKMaxx.....hmmm

Loving the look of the Raymond Blanc ones as well.

Is there any truth in the warning that the coating in non stick pans can be toxic?

I have denby ones, thanks to Tesco points. Love them, although the large sauteause has had to be replaced. The rest of the pans (stainless steel) are wearing really well.

That should read denby replaced it foc after 3/4 years because the coating failed. The 10yr guarantee was honoured which we weren't expecting, but very pleased about.

I've got IKEA pans too and they're great. Some of them are over a decade old and you'd never know it.

Do the stellar stainless steel ones stick?
And does anyone know the non stick coating issue, if there is an issue that is.

We have Judge Vista saucepans- bought them 17yrs ago and they still look as good as new. They're not non-stick but have had food burnt in them many a time (forget the spuds are boiling) and they always come up like new. Bought they're non stick frying pan a couple of years ago, equally fab, great weight and dishwashers proof!
