Hard water....glass shower doors

My glass shower doors are looking awful, I try scrubbing with a general bathroom cleaner & then using the mr.muscle glass cleaner but water marks are very much evident. I want them to be completely clean and transparent once more , any suggestions please ?

I use sainsburys glass cleaner with white vinegar. It's a blue bottle and 65p brilliant stuff

Dissolve soap powder in hot water and give it a good scrub. Then shower it down. Use a squeegee after each shower use.

Limescale remover or something acdic - lemon juice or vinegar.

Then coat with car wax to stop it attracting the drips. Apparently. Never done this!

I use white vinegar spray from Home Bargains. Marvellous stuff.

Find its easier with a microfibre cloth, downside is they then need washing.

Squeegee thing after every shower, tiresome but worth it.

DD2 cleaned mine with bicarbonate of soda, made into a paste with some water, rubbed it all over, then rinsed off with vinegar. Then she got really excited cos it all fizzed at her feet, but I couldn't laugh too much at her, as she'd cleaned the shower screen for me Grin.

viakal applied with a sponge, left for 10 mins then rinsed off. It's quick

Viakal here too to clean, then a daily spray of shower spray after use, or white vinegar and water in a spray bottle.

Viakal! It changed my life.

A bit too late for you this time, but the only guaranteed way to keep glass shower doors looking nice is to start with brand new glass doors and always thoroughly dry them after every use. My shower is 8 years old and still looks like new. After using the shower, before I get out I use a window squeegee to get most of the water off the doors, then dry the door edges and inside the door overlap with a towel. I also dry the taps, door handle, and the shower riser bar with a towel. It takes about a minute. The shower still looks new - and we live in a very hard water area.

If your shower has already been affected by limescale, try cleaning it with a good limescale remover. Cillit Bang Limescale & Shine scored the highest in Which? tests recently.

Once you've removed the limescale, all you need to do is dry the glass from then on and there will be no more limescale buildup to deal with.

Viakal to get them back to clean and then a Karcher Window Vacuum after use.

llangennith · 14/01/2017 00:58

I use the Kercher window vacuum thingy after I've finished showering. Very satisfying to see the clear dry glass ☺

In the end I insisted on getting a water softener - utterly bliss and worth every penny!

Oblomov16 · 15/01/2017 17:03

I need to do this. Adds to list.

Viakal. Work of the gods
