Hand Held Vacuums

Hi, please can somebody recommend me a hand held vacuum cleaner - I'm a bit overwhelmed by the choice and prices out there. Do I need a Dyson? What about voltage?

Got this as something that is easier and quicker to use that getting the big hoover out to clean up minor crumbs and such things. This is especially useful as my one year old has a tendency to throw her food everywhere. This makes it easy to quickly clean up any mess that she has made over a small area. Also useful for cleaning up the car due to it's cordless ability. Reasonable suction for something this size and very easy to empty and the filter is easily to remove and can be washed in water.

The only bad thing that I can say about the Vax is that the battery life isn't the greatest. It does do the job that I bought it for though so it's not the end of the world.
