Moving a fridge & freezer

If I am moving a fridge and freezer out of my kitchen temporarily into my hallway. Do I have to switch them off and then let the gases settle before switching them back on again? I vaguely remember having to leave the fridge upright switched off for 24 hours before restarting.

Yes turn off for at least 24 hours before switching on in new location.

Also avoid tilting more than 45 degrees. Tbh though if you are really careful and don't tilt at all then you wouldn't have to wait before using. A little wobble is ok!
