Calling all organisers

I am in desperate need of help and advice. I need some help with home to organise my home and keep it like that. I work full time as a homecarer so my hours can be a bit antisocial which leaves next to no time for housework. Now my other half will help clean at the weekends when he's off but its organising the flat and keeping it that way so its less stress and hassle when cleaning (or even just I'm general). I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle and have no idea what the best way to sort it is. All help will be very, very much appreciated xx

Everything has to have a designated home and be stored with its friends. Have you thought about sorting by category ? You can subdivide categories into smaller more manageable ones. If you have a cluttered kitchen then you could start off with the cutlery, getting rid of anything that is broken, then you could move on to pans and so on. The most important thing is that everything has its place and is easy to put away.
Have a look at the Marie kondo thread

Thanks homeaway. I have thought about sorting by category, but my work schedule doesn't give me much time to sit down and actually sort through everything. I am off thus weekend though so am hoping to try that then x
