Bosch Dishwasher - Water not filling

Don't know if any of you clever mumsnetters might be able to help me. We recently inherited a Bosch slimline dishwasher when we moved into our house. I can't find a model number and the numpty vendor didn't leave any manuals with the house.

Anyway, the water stopped flowing out the other night. I managed to clear what I assume was a blockage in the outlet pipe and it drained the water.

However, now when I switch it on, it makes all the right noises, but no water comes in. Any ideas?

I can't seem to get the kickplate off the bottom to look at the pipes. Even if anyone knows how to do this it would help.

Thanks all.

Hi twelveyeargap - wish I had a magic answer, but all I can tell you is that on my Bosch dishwasher, the numbers you need to find are the upper part of the door, facing you as you open it - it is black print on silver casing and NOT easy to spot at all. That number is probably what an repairman would need to know for parts, etc. I have used a local company for such repairs and they were really reasonable. The problem I had was that it wasn't emptying and it was just gunk built up in the outlet pipe - he cleared it and said to run it empty on the hottest/longest cycle once a month. I use that diswasher cleanser stuff in the bottle. Here's hoping you soon get sorted!

Oh that helps, thank you twinklingstar.

Prob be worth getting in touch with Bosch direct. If you have probs finding the model number they will help you locate it and they might also be able to send/mail you a manual which will have troubleshooting info in it. I am not practical but managed to sort out some small probs with our previous Bosch dishwasher just be using the manual which was really clear. All unlike our current Smeg dishwasher, the manual is really badly translated from Italian and nothing is easy to fix. Good luck...

Does it have any id on the front panel - we have a slimline Bosch Classixx Maxx so may be able to help ?

It's a bosch SPS5462GB/18. That's all I can find on it. I think it might be ancient. I can find the operating manual online, but not the installation guide, which is probably what I need.

The pump sounds like it's humming, but there's no water, so either it's not working properly, or the inlet pipe is blocked. Just not sure how to get at the pipe to check it.

I can't find any screws in the kickplate so if anyone knows how to get that off, I'd be much obliged!

Thanks.

It is a pain to get apart and probably better if you can get hold of some information from Bosch as to how to go about it. Those details aren't in the instruction manual. Asked dh how to get kick plate off and he reminded me how awkward it had been when we tried. (A mouse had somehow got through a tiny gap and electrocuted itself on the wiring!! It was July and made the kitchen stink to high heaven. We couldn'f work out what the stench was )

Ewwww. Thanks for the tip. Will call Bosch services then and see if they can give instructions.
