You have my sympathy! Borrow a carpet shampoo machine?

Hi there,

a strongish solution of biological washing powder will stop the smell. This also works for sick, animal pee or poo as well. It is rotting proteins in the substance that cause the smell and the enzymes in bio powder eat them away hence no smell after. It does have to be BIOLOGICAL powder as non-bios won't have the enzymes.

It does work honestly, I used it successfully when my cat got kidney trouble and had accidents outside her litter tray bless her!

I second the bio washing powder or liquid. Bear in mind you need to get it to wherever the poo has got to, which may include soaked into the underlay. I am the voice of experience!

And after you've used the biological washing powder, Lakeland's paste called White Wizzard is great for removing poo stains, though you may need a couple of applications.
