shouldbedoingthehousework · 16/02/2007 08:43

Good morning

Haven't been FLYing much this week, with the lo's at home there's just not the time! They have been very helpful though and we've been doing a 10min tidy-up before supper which has been keeping the toys from taking over the house!

Don't have much time today either cos dh is taking the afternoon off so we're planning to take the kids to a soft-play centre (is this wise at half-term? )

Do need to -
empty, load and re-run td
empty dw
washing x 1 load
make beds
tidy up upstairs
deliver some letters for pre-school

dh and I are going out this evening to watch the local drama groups latest play which should be fun and we may go out again tomorrow too as we have some friends staying over-night tomorrow and they've offered to babysit....

staceym11 · 16/02/2007 08:59

oh shouldbe, that'll be great for you and dh to get out on your own. oh and taking the kids to soft play in half term is not wise! lol, i did it wednesday and regretted it terribly!!!!

right now i have a chance to list:

me and ds up washed feed dressed done
dd up washed fed dressed (all done except dressed, gotta catch her first!)
get dry washing out of td, sort and put away
put a load of washing on
de-scale steriliser
wash bath (wednesday FLY)
hoover flat
quick tidy both bedrooms
mop kitchen floor
list boys baby clothes for ebay
take pics of baby clothes for ebay
1 load of washing on
into td
out sorted put away

i think that's enough to be getting on bith,
oh and just caught dd and managed to get her dressed! result!

yaddayah · 16/02/2007 08:59

Morning people !

Still very impressed with the flapjacks (esp with 4 kids .. impressive time management !)
Jelly .. your done list was very scary

I do have one question on flying .... Do you have a "control journal"??

I didn't bother as TBH i've got enough clutter without making more and i reckon i'd use it for a week and it would end up sitting folornly on the kitchen windowsill on my growing to do list pile ?

Anyhoo..

additional done from yesterday

Showerstall scrubbed and bleached (decided bath was clean so swapped it )

to do
Bath kids (ok i'm a bad mum..)
Do homework (practice key words with DS1)
unload d/w
attempt flapjacks (!!)
offload kids to grandma as on v v rare night out (black tie do with dh in London
have lovely shower, tart myself up and enjoy myself
Sleep the sleep of a thousand pinot grigio's !

Have a lovely day all

yaddayah · 16/02/2007 09:02

x post .. agree with stacey . soft play @ halfterm =

over excited kids x 200 + fruit shoots + jaded staff = headache + lost of sanity

its a mathamatical fact !

laloop · 16/02/2007 09:08

Morning
jelley glad the mouse is now disposed
Hi stacey good luck with the washing, hope you had a nice day out yesterday
shouldbe sounds like a nice evening out tonight, enjoy the softplay (yes, will probably be mad at halfterm )

This is the first day of my dc's half-term break, they're off until Wed. So we will be out most of morning, going to see some friends and then to MIL's house at lunchtime.

Happy FLYing everyone. I'm off to finish making the beds and sort out the kitchen

shouldbedoingthehousework · 16/02/2007 09:09

Thanks! We are quite lucky cos have a HUGE soft play centre nearby - with lovely huge leather sofas for parents and not a fruit shoot in sight....still not sure about it though but the kids have been asking to go....will have to think hard of an activity which we could do instead...

Welcome yaddayah btw

laloop · 16/02/2007 09:14

Hi yadda - enjoy the black tie do, sounds great (oohh, the opportunity to really dress up and enjoy a night out...am very jealous, lol) Have fun!

tortoise · 16/02/2007 09:22

Morning all. Just popping in before DS's get here!(inset day)Half term next week.
Kitchen tidy and front room is ok just needs a quick hoover!
shouldbe Have a good day and eve.
Yad Have a good eve too.
jelley Ewww to your dead mouse!

tortoise · 16/02/2007 09:44

Front room hoovered.
Recycling put out.

Now its peeing down with rain! And i need to get electric later. Forgot yesterday.with myself! Wouldn't need to go out if i hadn't forgotten! Now we will all get soaked(except DD2!).

yaddayah · 16/02/2007 09:48

should be.. very envious of soft play centre leather sofas ? Crikey .. our local one has screwed down metal seats and looks like a technicolour prison (with littler inmates) !!

staceym11 · 16/02/2007 09:53

yaddahyah, we've got qa similar prison type soft play round our way! we must be in rougher areas! where the kids might nick things if they aren't screwed down! lol

grouchyoscar · 16/02/2007 10:06

Morning All

Jelley ewwh, how awful! BTW I hope you don't think I was being funny yesterday about the lists. Your lists are fantastic and it inspires me to do a bit more tbh.

Tort hope you have a lovely time with Dss

How do Shouldbe

Welcome Yadda

Hello everyone else

Another Grouchy Towers crisis today...The cistern for the loo was overflowing last night so I'm charged with organising a plumber. DH took DS to school so I'm missing my coffee morning...never mind

Done list
Empty DW
Put away (2:30 am Loo anxiety induced insomnia)
Tidy away front room camp
Up and washed
DS up and washed
S&S bathroom
Downstairs, make breakfast
Upstairs
Take down damp washing
Hang up wet washing
Bring damp washing downstairs
Load TD and run
Ds has opened ALL the boxes with card games and jigsaws and tipped them on the floor [shock}
Tidy up and put into right boxes
Hug DS and DH bye bye
Phone for plumber
Deal with morning mail
Make pizza dough, just putting to prove
Turn kitchen table round through 180 degrees
Start pizza sauce

Plumber here...I have a seeping ball cock...ho hum

Be back later, have fun all

taylormama · 16/02/2007 10:09

hellooooo! not been on all week as sooooo busy at work. Have not even peeked at the mission today so can someone please motivate me!! I also have to make a roast dinner, food for DS, go to sainsbury's, post office and do my work! hope everyone is ok ... will pop back later!

tortoise · 16/02/2007 10:13

Ooooh i just read the mission!
Thats a nice one for once. Doubt i will get to do it though!

shouldbedoingthehousework · 16/02/2007 10:41

I expect the leather sofas are actually faux-leather But still much better than the old place which was the prison style you usually find. And the menu actually has food you can bear to eat - roast veg bagettes and so on, I can almost claim to quite enjoy taking the kids there

So far I have -
empty, load and re-run td done
empty dw
washing x 1 load
make beds done
tidy up upstairs done
deliver some letters for pre-school written
played party games with kids done
turfed kids into garden done

Back later I hope x

laloop · 16/02/2007 10:44

Heading off now, house looks a sight after a hurried bath for the three dc's, breakfast dishes still sitting at the sink etc so will sort it out this afternoon
(Morning grouchy tortoise and taylormama )

EllieHsMum · 16/02/2007 10:46

Morning All,

Just read the mission Fly Lady is insane!

'Your laundry room mission for today is to place a picture of your family or favorite pet or a picture of something that is special to you in your laundry room. This allows you to see something pleasant when you are blessing the laundry.'

  1. I don't have a laundry room Unless you count my spare room as the laudry room this where the td is & the clothes horses.
2.I don't need pictures of family in the 'laudry room' to remind me how special they are too me. I am doing there laudry.

I am very grumpy today, lack of sleep. Ellie was fantastic last night she slept from 12ish right throught until 5.15! It was my bloody dh(no we didnt have a sex all night. He had a few pints from work last night & decided to have a chicken kebab. Breathing the divine chilly sauce & beer breath all night. the bedroom is soo smelly this morning.

right I better get a move on

tortoise · 16/02/2007 10:47

Ewwww EHM that sounds nice!!
(I don't have a laundry room either)

ludaloo · 16/02/2007 10:53

Hi all...will catch up on thread in a mo..

tort

Thanks for the 1st pick on the clothes Hope I'm not too late...

Could I possibly have:

Princess fleece jacket
Minnie Mouse fleece jacket
Purple fleece jumper
Polar bear trousers

You'll have to let me know cost...it comes to £8 not inc. postage..

Is that ok??

ludaloo · 16/02/2007 11:01

great lists ladies

Jelley glad the mouse is safely disposed of!

shouldbe have fun! I wouldn't worry about the indoor play in the holidays...you can let them run off some steam, and you don't need to stay that long. Hope you and dh have a good time

yadda let me know how the flapjacks go!!

hello to everyone too

shouldbedoingthehousework · 16/02/2007 11:02

ewwww EHM Poor you! Typical that this happens on a night when Ellie does sleep reasonably well! Be sure to have a good rest today {{{{hugs}}}}

Forgot that we also need bread so we're off for a walk to thje shops now - just hope the rain stays away - the clouds are looking quite dark...
