Ruching and tumble drying

I wonder if anyone can help?
I bought a new dress last week - washed it on the weekend without reading the label. The front was all ruched. After tumble drying it - which was not recommended, the ruching has been lost. Is there anything anyone can think of I can try to try to get it back?
Thanks.

Dampen the skirt with water and try to peg the ruching back along the side seams. Let it air dry, preferably resting over an airer rather than on a hanger with the weight of it pulling down on where you've pegged. I once had one of those long scrunched skirts and the instructions were to basically screw it up before letting it dry. Same kind of principle.
