How do you clean a velux window??

Window cleaners can't reach our bedroom velux window so I thought I'd give it a whirl myself. My arms are nowhere near long enough to clean the outside of it, managed to wipe around the edges but I'm left with a mucky middle!

they turn inside out. open it then use the handle at the top to pull the window down and then keep pulling it, you will think it is breaking and won't go back but it is fine :) then the outside is inside. You should be able to lock it in place too to aid with the cleaning. Some also have some kind of hinge you have to undo each side. Mine are Velux and they work how I explained first.

It is not easy if they don't lock and if they are high up. I found a cloth on the end of a pole would clean the bits I could not reach but not very well.

There's a bolt on the top of Velux windows. You'll see it when you open it.

There is a circular opening on one side of the frame, towards the bottom. It'll be on the same side as the bolt.

When you open the window so that the whole of the outside glass is on the inside you slide that bolt into the corresponding circular "hole" in the frame to secure it In place whilst you clean.

I am the proud possessor of 20, yes 20 velux windows, 8 of which are at the roof apex. One of life's mysteries is why no matter how much it fecking rains, it never, ever washes the bird shit off the velux.
