I'm starting to get to grips with my house. This is taking some time but I'm getting there slowly.
One of the nicest rooms is the master bedroom. It's the least cluttered, easiest to clean and has the most magnificent view if I do say so myself.
I want to make it extra nice though.
I'm planning to buy new sheets as already bought new duvet & pillows. I have nice furniture and a lamp which is functional but could be prettier.
What do you have in yours that makes it feel more luxurious?
I don't have any trouble sleeping or anything, I just want it to be Lovely!

That's a good idea actually re living room with a bed! Helps with the vision.
Today I have dusted the bedroom and thoroughly hoovered, fixed all the broken drawers so everything closes properly and will tackle the washing Iver the coming days.
There isn't really a place I could put a screen though it's a brilliant idea!
I'll work on my Lovely Chair too and post a pic when it's done.
As the natural light is good up there I think I'd like to keep things light but can easily put some colour in with accessories
Is it sad to drag DH soft furnishings shopping tomorrow?!

We went soft furnishings shopping and it's got a bit out of hand! We've decided to redecorate Grin
I've been looking at new curtains and different colour schemes in the dulux book, I'm liking the olive green and grey type colours but DH isn't mad about the green. I like white walls so not sure how far we're going to take it yet but it's quite exciting!

Bought myself a comforter .... think extra duvet rather than thinner throws, its subtle self patterning (cream as my furniture is light oak).

Now its getting colder its folded up along the bottom of the bed during the day, just makes me smile seeing it there, at night pulled up on top of my duvet for extra warmth.

Agree about no clutter, have created a wardrobe room to banish mine.

Currently in the middle of revamping my en-suite which should make the bedroom an even better place to be.

Love the idea of a posh chair.

Hi Lion We have a dark olive green feature wall, and Iove it! It's on the same wall as our headboard (oak).

I agree re: touch lamp lighting. We have one on each bedside table and they're fab for in the night (when the dc are coming/going).

Do you have a TV in your room? DH insists on having a great big black monstrosity in ours, and it breaks my heart.

Get floor length curtains if you can Smile

We've just put in a beautiful thick silky carpet that your feet sink in to and long floor length faux velvet (?) curtains. Lighting is everything so re think about your lamp!

I have a huge oversized mirror on the wall.
Everyone gasps when they see it and ask where I bought it.

Throws in different textures and an assortment of cushions.
A upholstered large blanket box or chair or chaise.
I also have a statement light fitting in the ceiling.
I'm still upgrading my room too. I spend waaaaay to long on Pinterest and need 's house either 20 bedrooms to do all I want to.
I've slso just discovered posh quality bedding. I've slsolways been a fan of cotton but now upgrading all my sheets etc to hotelet quality high thread count cottons. I love getting into bed every night.

Not our bedroom but recently stayed in a posh hotel with the most luxurious room I've ever seen. Deep aubergine walls and ceiling with dark wooden panelling which was shoulder height all the way around the room. It had wooden shutters at the window and the biggest mirror I've ever seen above the bed kind of instead of a head board. Definitely going to try to recreate at home.

Some fab suggestions here! Keep em coming.
Im in two minds whether to paint a colour or just repaint white so it looks fresh. Colour would be more impact than changing furnishings but it's a high ceiling over a stair case so would be an utter pita to get a neat line to the ceiling.
Oh yes to a blanket box!
Jingle I've got spotlights and the lamp at the mo, what sort of lighting would you recommend?
I spotted some nice curtains today that were velvet effect at the top then silky fabric but concluded they might look a bit 'cheap but trying to look expensive' iyswim?
The window is the whole length of a wall, half width. On the one hand, the curtains could almost make a feature wall if I went full length. However they might look a bit OTT?!
Do have a TV up there but it's not too intrusive. It's the only way me and DH go to bed together Blush
