Hi everyone
Haven't done much more cleaning although the house doesn't look too bad as lo's were playing in the garden most of afternnoon rather than trashing the house

I need to lose a few lbs too so will join in with you as posting will hopefully keep me going on the straight and narrow diet-wise. Was doing ok, just had a couple of lbs to lose) until I put on at least 7lbs since beginning of Christmas My clothes feel all tight and uncomfortable and I don't want to give in and go up a size. If you're interested as well, the "exercise buddies" thread is also good for anyone who's into regular exercise or who wants to get into it. We even have our own personal trainer on there (thank you, Lorns ) who always has loads of good advice. I just started following the weightwatchers diet yesterday but am going to try doing it at home (I already have the books) as the classes can work out quite expensive.
So my "be good" list will be:

  • get to gym/swim or walk on at least 4 days per week
  • Stop snacking unless it is fruit (I am a terrible nibbler)
  • Keep to the WW points system
  • Drink loads of water
  • try to cut down on my wine consumption (glass or two of red most nights which is too much calorie-wise plus don't want it to turn into a habit)

FLYing will also help as housework burns lots of cals if you're really going for it.

Hi Laloop. I did WW about 5yrs ago. Got down to goal weight too. I will have to dig out the books and work out poinjts etc. It worked before so worth trying again. Not much point in going to meetings as i'd have to take DD1 and DD2 with me!

laloop · 14/02/2007 19:04

Yay, tortoise, go dig those books out and we can get pointing
Must look and see what amount housework burns off points-wise, that may give us all even more motivation with the daily FLY lists, my kitchen floor will be gleaming

HazelNuts · 14/02/2007 19:04

Hi all.

I very sill hazelnuts here

I was doing handstands yesterday when my right arm gave way and I landed on it.
Well I am now in plaster with a broken arm

I have not don't much today. Just the stuff I have to do. I`m glad it was sunny and dry today, as DD walked to school with me as buggy pushing is a no no atm. (until the plaster is set hard.)

I see everyone else are FLYing well. Wish Ruby could have put me in her luggage to go to Disney land. My dream is to goto Disney World one day.

tort don't eat to much cake

satinshoes Hope your DD2 is much better soon. I have heard of a few people having to go to A+E with Lo`s with problems with colds/flu!
2 mums were talking about it today at school. The GP said they would be ok and to let it run its course, but they went down hill over the weekend and ended up in A+E with antibiotics being given The very back of their throats were so sore. The GP taking a quick look was not good enough as it was lower down the throat, more in the neck area or something.

I better get DC ready for bed. They have been a little "mad" hyper tonight!!

tortoiseLikesItNiceAndSlow · 14/02/2007 19:37

Only two small pieces of cake so far!

Going by my old WW books i have 22 points a day(18 for the 1st week).

I'm going to write down everything i eat/drink.
Drink water quite often now so that will help.

Right now i'm making myself stay sat here instead of raiding the cupboards! I AM NOT HUNGRY!

glitterfairy · 14/02/2007 20:15

elliehsmum thanks, glitter flying your way!

Like tort and ruby I am sorting my life out. Divorce and domestic violence firmly behind me even if court cases rumble on I am taking control. I have given up wheat, dairy, red meat, alcohol and caffeine (3 years now). I am starting like this as I have a food intolerance built up from years of over indulging I think.

As a christmas/birthday present my dad has paid for a personal trainer for 6 months who takes me out once a week for jogging/walking and texts me often to ensure I am keeping up with my regime.

I start each day with a juice or smoothie and am really feeling better after ten days like this.

Bakc to flying I havent done much today (lovely day in the dales) but am tidying and sorting as off to drop off two of my kids tomorrow and take my eldest to London for two days for her birthday. We are trying to get tickets for covent garden on Saturday night but it looks like we will have to queue at 7.30 am to get day seats as no returns so far! However we are really looking forward to a girly two days.

grouchyoscar · 14/02/2007 20:16

Thanks for the mail tort will do it at the weekend

Hazel hope the pot is not too annoying

EHM fab list

This aft's done list

Make lunch
Tidy away
Put DS's clothes in washer (what does he do?)
Dress him in civvies
play for a bit then DS is in a 'I'm doing what I want' mood so
Go downstairs and clean out cat litter )IT WASN'T MY TURN)
Empty downstairs bins
Put uniform in td and run
Do my phonecalls
Wipe worktops
Feed cats
Play with DS (jigsaws)
Make his tea
Tidy away
Run DW
More play (his version of dominos)
Up to bed
3 stories
Tuck in, night night
STOP
Down for tea

Think my antibiotics are causing dizzy spells and heaaches. Only 2 days left and hey' they're easier to cope with than a leaky bladder!

Tomorrow I'm doing my 1st session as a 'reading friend' for the school. I hope I can instill a real love of books to a child. I've managed it with DS so, pass it on.

Have a great evening

Ooooh i'd love a personal trainer!
I would like to start the day with juice of smoothie but i found when i did it for a while this time last year that it was just costing me too much in fruit and veg. What sort of smoothie do you do?

glitterfairy · 14/02/2007 20:58

Loads of different ones and I juice veggies as well. So usually a combination of things like carrots, fennel, apples, pears. I have a book called super juice. I also use some made up stuff like loads of berries in a smoothie and things.

My trainer is fab and makes a real differnce. I always thought it would cost a massive amoutn and I guess compared to the gym it does but if I did gym plus ww it is less than that! I couldnt afford it for myself but I have had such an awful time lately that my dad stumped up as something for me!

tortoiseLikesItNiceAndSlow · 14/02/2007 21:08

Ive got books from the juice master. I was having the turbo charged juice for breakfast and lunch. It had lime, cucumber, spinach, apples, pinapple,(and mayne something else) In it. Tasted ok actually which i was suprised about.
I love the Vie juices but a bit expensive for a small drink!

I'm munching on grapes now. Have been keeping myself busy to keep my mind off food.
