Christingle jam jars with wax - how to get clean?

So I have moved to a new village and as part of my 'networking' I found myself offering to clean up the 150 odd jam jars used for the local family christingle service.

They are all covered in wax from the tea lights on the inside.

What would be the most efficient and streak free way of cleaning them????

I'd put them in freezer, a few at a time obviously, then you should be able to just pick wax off with blunt knife

I recently wanted to remove the wax residue left in a shop bought candle jar.

I put it in the fridge for a few hours then used the rounded end of a dinner knife and the wax just popped out clean. But that was big lump of wax not splashes.

I've removed splashes of wax by putting jars through the dishwasher. (Disclaimer: This is probably a terrible idea and hundreds of MNers are about to pile on and tell me I've ruined my filters or similar)

Put them in hot water and it will come off, then just rub them with a tea towel to be sure it's all gone

yep - freezer. Should pick off easily

Fill with boiling water (carefully!) and leave them to cool, untouched.

The wax melts and floats to the top, creating a disc that can be lifted off once cooled.

Any slight residue will disappear with a hot wash/ dishwasher cycle
