How do you store your flour?

What's the solution to bags of flour looking messy in the cupboard and getting flour EVERYWHERE?

I need something that's easy to transfer flour into, that I can dip a cup measure into with ease (or pour into a measure, I suppose), and that I can label with the type of flour.

Tall Ikea jars for plain and self raising, biggest Kilner jar I could find for bread four (I can really get through that so have the bigger bags of it)

He pound shop do plastic jars in the baking section. I think you buy two one inside the other which come with plastic scoops. Can I ask how do you use flour if kept in the freezer??

Only have cornflour in a metal tin. Seems fine.

No other flour as no need.

After having a problem with mites taking over my cupboard I have always kept my flour airtight either by placing the bag of flour in a freezer bag and keeping tied or inside Tupperware containers (dunelm do a perfect flour sized one that fits a 1kg bag). Never had mites since and paranoia makes me always check it after previous incident.

Glass IKEA jars.

Ikea TILLSLUTA boxes - white with clear lids - are absolutely ideal for a bag of flower. They stack, so can store inside a cupboard really well.

Kilner jars, rest of your the bag in the freezer.
I had weevils a few years ago & they got into bloody everything. I've been a bit anal about it since.

I have the same a ElBandito. As they are square they are far more practical than round jars. I keep all flours (plain, SR and strong) and sugar in these containers.

Em, wtf are flour mites??? I normally just keep the flour bag inside a plastic vegetable bag in the cupboard

Feck, better go check......

The kind of tupperware that's for cereal works for me. Holds the big bags of flour, airtight, can pour or scoop out.

Am I the only one wondering why that was deleted?! What could someone post on a flour holder thread that was dodgy?

Kept in their paper bags inside a large Tupperware together (bitter experience of cupboard moths)

TwinkleTwinkleLittleBat · 02/11/2016 08:42

I don't tend to keep flour because of mites. I just buy small amounts when I need it.
