Help! How to bring back a high gloss shine?!

Hi I have high gloss black kitchen units and I've had really bad built on grime. I read that WD40 can remove this easily so I tried it. With no effort at all it removed it. Problem is it's also removed the high gloss shine! Please help! 😭

Could you try steaming them to melt the grease ? Whatever you do try don't use Cillit Bang - awful stuff that mucks up surfaces .

They've already been cleaned now I need to figure out how to get the shine back 💔

Has it taken the gloss off or has it left a 'film' of oil on the doors ?

I've just googled 'uses for wd40' and it says that it can melt some plastic , so if the finish on the doors is an acrylic type stuff they might be buggered

I cleaned one with oil and that's done it too. Can oil remove acrylic?

How many doors have you done ? If it's only one could you get a replacement ?

I've done 1 with the wd40 and 1 with oil. They're so clean but not glossy at all. There's no film of oil because I cleaned it with warm soapy water to get rid of the oil. I wonder if I can DIY high gloss units?
