Electric blankets - do they go under the sheets?

I'm cold and want an electric blanket but there's a myriad on blankets /mattress protectors etc for sale. I'm confused and which ones go under and which ones to over.

The last time I used one was about 35 years ago.

I want one that goes under the sheets. I've got an extra deep mattress so will probably need one with strings to keep it on the bed.

They go under the sheet.

My electric blanket has an elasticated "skirt" rather than strings so works like a fitted sheet. It's also slightly padded so I don't need a mattress cover.

So my bed goes - electric blanket, fitted sheet.

If you wanted a mattress protector as well it'd go mattress protector, leccy blanket, sheet.

I suppose you could have the protector on top of the blanket if you wanted.

My blanket is one you can leave on low all night.

I love it. Best thing about winter 😄

Ps my mattress is extra deep too but the blanket fits fine.

Thanks - which one have you got?

They don't all go under as in they fit on top of the mattress. Some are overblankets and are used in conjunction with a duvet, etc.

Mine was from Argos. Dreamland I think. Dual control so I can have my side on but DH can stay cool on his side.

Can you feel the wires through it?

No.

It's blissful.

I've been known to come in freezing from an evening out, get into my prewarmed bed and lie there going "Ohhhhhhhhh......aaaah...." loud enough to wake DH up. It's LOVELY 😄

And it's machine washable. You just pull the connectors out at the side.

Brilliant - thank you!

I bought dc's electric blankets last year, they are silent night ones from Argos, really cheap. Go under the fitted sheet, so warm and toasty I'm thinking of getting a double for our bed....

Lovely - good to have another recommendation.
I don't think my dc (tweens) would get out of bed if I got one for them :o
