Hello again all, I am dipping back into this briefly to share what I've been doing and maybe get some tips...

My DS2 is now 11 weeks and I am now starting to get a 5 hour stretch of sleep at night. I unfortunately ran into PND again this time round (had it with DS1 who is now 22 months) which has also taken a bit of getting over but I am feeling brighter now and having more god days than bad.

I just wondered from those who have got/ have had PND how you started off FLYing again, do I start from baby steps again? I am managing to do quite a bit on some days but not on other and I am trying to give myself praise for what I can do, but I would like to try and get back into the routine that I was in before.

Any suggestions?

Just for the record, I have done lots already today as the estate agent is coming round to photgraph it as my landlady is selling and we're moving out to buy!!

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2007 12:10

1 load of dishes done
1 wash load in done
1 wash load round done
start cleaning lounge - at least 3 15 min blocks 1 15 min block
add to shop hmmm
clean ebay highchair! started!

Was busy scrubbing highchair when DS woke screaming - temp up slightly, changed nappy and he has a sore that is looking infected and his foreskin looks really weird, plus the coldsore on his mouth. he's now clinging to me crying, smells weird... looks like i'm gonna be at the doctors this afternoon!!!

vwvic · 07/02/2007 12:28

Hi Pippah- I'm new to flying too, I started on Monday. I'm sorry about your PND. I had it too, it's a b**r, isn't it? I'm glad you're starting to feel a bit better.
TBH, my house wasn't really bad enough to start with babysteps, so I've set a routine loosely based on the flyzones. I aim to have one "zone" a day, and do whatever needs doing then. I also addd whatever else I need to do (like emails etc) to my list. So far, it seems to be working! I'm very hopeful I'll make it to a week.
What I found really helped me was to get dh to do the house with me one weekend, as it's much easier to keep on top of if it's tidy-ish and cleanish to start with.

Anyway, my update:
-retrieve and wash dd1 school socks done
-put washing away sorted, will put away this pm
-write ebay listings for fish tank pumps 1/2 done
-wash bedroom curtains (putting off) in washer now
-clear bedroom surfaces still avoiding
-find the computer disk dh borrowed from a friend (not too sure why he can't do this himself!) no bloomin' idea
-do some paid work. ha, fat chance
-make cushion covers mmm
-email arsey SIL (seriously putting off)anyone fancy doing this for me?

Flame- hope your afternoon turns out ok...

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2007 12:51

pippah you are very brace doing flying at 11 weeks with PND (big applause emoticon)

I would start with tiny steps but am in awe because I remember with mine I was unable to do much at all most days. Mind you I have neither PND nor a baby and can only manage tiny steps most days.

Hello to pippah and damewashalot, I just started FLYing last week too

Have finished nearly everything on my list, have been to shops, visited MIL etc
Didn't get to post office, will go first thing tomorrow.

tortoise · 07/02/2007 15:46

Tidied up front room a bit. Waste of time really as DD's just mess it up again within minutes. Will do it later.

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2007 15:52

Bah... think I should stick to just morning FLYing

satinshoes · 07/02/2007 16:18

DD did so well with her jabs. We had to wait an hour so i fed her loads before. As we went in she was just about to drop off to sleep. She gave me the biggest smile i've had about 2 seconds before the 1st needle went in . Cried for 30 seconds and then was fine. She's sleeping now so I just have to hope she is fine later. DD1 grizzled for a week after her first jabs

EllieHsMum · 07/02/2007 16:21

Hi damewashalot, pippah & ludaloo satin* I hope dd2's injections went ok.
glitter so far ellie is only 8 months old & i think she recognises the sign for milk I think the earliest they sign back is from 10 months onwards. It helps with communication, and avoids frustration. At the moment its fun & gets me & ellie out of the house. I may enjoy it more than her

ludaloo · 07/02/2007 17:04

Hi Everyone..

Your list is great EHM

satin glad your dd2's jabs went well, lets hope she isn't too grizzly now.

Well we are promised snow tonight...and tomorrow. It is certainly cold enough!!!
I don't really want it to come, I am fed up being cold...and having colds! I want the summer...not snow!

Well better go sort tea out...I can smell burning!

TTFN xxxx

EllieHsMum · 07/02/2007 17:12

Thanks luda I really feel like I've done something today. I want summer too

ludaloo · 07/02/2007 17:19

You do look like you have done a good job! And you have been out!
I think my ds (he's 3) would like baby signing....he signs along with "something special" He knows the sign for "Look", and "Mr Tumble"...and many more...
My dd2 is 18 months and is just starting to copy words and things.
She can point to parts of her body when you ask her where they are.
She has just started to say "Eye" (and poke herself in it!) And "Nooooos" for nose and EEER for ear!
She seems to be learning things very quickly lately.
She would probably like signing too.

EllieHsMum · 07/02/2007 17:35

we watch 'something special' too. I've been up & about since 6ish. Its amazing what I can do when I put my mind to it. Wont get much done tomorrow as I have hospital appointment & ellie has 8 month check. DH will be at home so rountin kinda goes out the window
Your lo's sound so cute. If you are near me you could always come along to one of the classes. The lady who runs them always welcomes people who are interested. I met a wee boy & his nana in the park yesterday. He was at the stage pointing out eyes etc. He pointed at Ellie's whilst she was coming towards him on the swing I thought was going to poke it out.

satinshoes · 07/02/2007 17:43

any tips here gratefully received

EllieHsMum · 07/02/2007 17:48

Sorry satin i am no use! ellie turns possessed child when we try & give her calpol/medicine.

ds has been fine all afternoon - we even fitted in a trip to the playground. Came home and he played on the computer while dd and I made supper - he sat up at the table and announced that he felt sick and rushed himself off to the downstairs loo where projectile vomit came out of him with enormous force the loo, newly mopped floor and walls were covered! Thankfully Granny was available to come and take dd to Rainbows while I cleared up....YUK YUK YUK - what is wrong with my lo's these days??
I want the summer too
