Can anyone help me get rid of this stain on my fireplace?

I have quite a few rings on my marble fireplace, I've tried everything and I can't get rid of them. They are only visible if you look from a certain angle, but it still annoys me. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think that's what's called "etching"? You might need a specialist kit to get rid of it.

I've never had any marble in the house, so I am not sure how you handle it, but I am sure someone will be along with better advice soon. It is chemical damage to the stone, I think, that needs some kind of polishing out??

Acid etches marble - quite likely someone has put a glass of wine down without a coaster. You have to be careful what you clean it with.
