Hi All, we have new windows that are filty after the building work. I'm using windowlene and a glass cloth but i'm not getting them cleaning and have horrendous streaks and smudges.

Any advice welcomed they are west facing, big and driving me nuts in the evening sun! Angry

Hot water with a drop of Stardrops with ammonia (or just plain hot water) and a cloth to wash. A dry, lint free cloth to dry. I have an ecloth set for cleaning glass, but it's by no means essential.

Pledge multi surface then buff out the smears with kitchen towel

Star drops sounds interesting. Where can I buy that (local rather than online?) thanks

Home bargains have it

Use a scrunched up newspaper to stop streaks. I find normal window and glass cleaner does the job when you use newspaper instead of a cloth!

loaded up with star drops and cleaning tips - thanks all!

HG do a really a nice window cleaner spray that doesn't leave any streaks afterwards, you can use it with a cloth.

Maybe obvious, but you need to clean your widows on a clouded day, and make sure the product you use does not dry on the glass before you wipe it.

This is the best product ever. Cleans glass in a flash using just a microfibre cloth.

I use car shampoo, as pp said above - get window really wet, then completely dry. I also have brand new windows and I clean the insides at least twice a week because they are so beautiful and shiny

Windowlene wipes much much better than the spray and easier to use
