Wth apologies: any advice on dog diarrhoea stains on beige carpet??

Just that.

Poor DHound could not help himself the other night and crapped all over a carpeted area rather than the acres and acres of hard floor that would have been available to him, allowing him to avoid his bed area which clearly was his priority...

We only found the evidence the next morning, so things has started to dry and were well soaked in.

So far I have removed what solids there were, treated with carpet cleaner, treated with washing powder (for the enzymes) - I've just repeated that (the incident is now 2 days ago).
I have a Vanish bar - should I try that?

Or do we need to recarpet that room? Sigh.

Try the vanish bar and then if that fails you could try a weak ish bleach solution. Depends on the colour of your carpet.
I had to treat a stain with bleach and it worked. Not 100% perfection but so much better than the stains. Work from the outside in. Soak up any excess wetness with massive amounts of old tea towels etc. Such fun.

The carpet is 8 years old, so not perfect anyway - plenty of kids' juice spillages on there already.

White Wizard (Lakeland) cleans poo marks, and tea spills too. It's a paste so easy to use.

I had another go at it this afternoon with the Vanish bar.
Now needs to dry over night and then I will reassess in day light.

At least the dog seems ok....

Simple Solution maybe lightened affairs a bit, but the now-paler stain is still pretty obvious. And spreading...

Have you tried vinegar? Not sure exactly how it works but DH found something on YouTube involving vinegar and an iron and it worked really well when we had same problem

Get it professionally cleaned - it may be too late though. I've dealt with similar in the past and hired a carpet cleaning machine. It was very hard work though effective and I wished I'd just got someone in.

Try 1001 it may take going over it a few times but it should work.

Definitely get professional carpet cleaner in, they will bring it up like new

Pacific, you've thrown a lot at that stain in a short period of time. Zombie doubts the carpet has had time to properly dry out between treatments. Can you leave it alone for a couple of days, then give it the best hoover you can and then reassess? Zombie has more experience than any Zombie should have with cat poo stains and it is a long process but she's almost always managed to succeed in the end. Judicious furniture rearrangement hides the rest.

There is a handy little rug that may be deployed as camouflage if need be...
