Blind inside or outside of window recess?

Looking to get a roman blind for living room window. DH wants it in the recess of the window but I think it would look better on the outside.
What looks best - is there a right way?

Personally, for a Roman, I would put it outside provided the window was not too deeply set. There's no right way though.

Depends on the window but generally they look better on the outside IMO. I've got one in a recess and it doesn't look quite right.
