Cleaning coir carpet on the stairs

Just that really, it's filthy but water stains it and children have drawn on it. How do you clean it lovely mners. I don't expect it to be perfect but a marginal improvement would be great.

When I was looking at it, the carpet shop told me the main disadvantage is that it can't be cleaned and water marks stain permanently

Can you try a 'shake and vac' style dry powder and see if that helps? I think Vanish makes one as well?

Yes a radiator le a leaked once and the mess is awful, I'll try shake n vac and the vanish one and report back.
