Does anyone have a pot-belly stove?

I'm thinking of taking out a fireplace and putting in a pot belly stove. I fancy quite a rounded old fashioned look for wood/coal burning. Any suggestions for suppliers/models please??

Probably too modern for you but I can thoroughly recommend them. Their construction means that they don't crack like some stoves do. We have the hybrid (but I like the firebug)

Thanks Winestein, I like the look of the Firebug. I'll contact them to see if they have a supplier in N Ireland.

Hi MT - They work on individual customers requirements so I don't think they supply anyone as such - you just provide the measurements and they "post" it to you - or fit it. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too taxing to get one to you by courier (that's how ours arrived).
They are really friendly, so I am sure they will help you out with your enquiry at least!

OMG I LOVE the firebug - although ours would have to be a woodbug!!

Have added the site to favourites, we have been looking for a woodburning stove for ages but find them all too oldyworldy looking!!

Multitasker, please let me know how you get on with ordering it etc - if you do get it I will be very

winestein · 04/02/2007 20:07

lol at your excitement

Thanks guys, I will not be ordering it yet for a few months - we have a corner brick fire-place with a gas fire in at present, but there is very little heat - it's in a big room, so I think we are in agreement that it would be best off out. Having said all that it will necessitate a fair bit of work - the floor will have to be re-done and decor will need tidying up. Just don't want another cold winter in a room that we should be spending our time in. If I come across any other suppliers I'll drop a post.
