What to do with used wet flannels

I use 2 flannels per day to clean my face. I don't know where to store them after I have used, but before they go in the wash. If I put them in the linen basket, I'm sure it will stink. I usually leave them in the bottom of the bath but they attract massive spiders which run out when I pick the flannels up Plus this looks untidy. I do a towel wash twice a week so what should I do with my damp flannels in the interim?!

I put them on the bathroom radiator and then into the washing basket once dry

Stick them over the side of the bath or on the towel rail to dry, then put them in the wash basket.

Could you get a small bucket with a lid?
Fill with soapy water or use napisan and pop the used flannels in there until you do the main wash

Either hang them on the radiator above the washing basket or get a plastic holey launderette basket for washing and drape them over the side.

I just stick them in the everyday wash

I have this by the end of the bath caddy. Bottles in the top, clean flannels in the middle, used ones in the bottom, the DCs use them too, empty and pop them in the washing machine every night. I don't save them for a towel wash.

I just put them in the wash basket then into a 60 wash, they don't smell mainly because they are clean in the first place, having already had a 60 wash if you see what I mean.

I just put them straight in the washing machine.

we have a towel rail over the bathtub (one of those wire v-shaped ones) and flannels go on there until they are almost dry. and then they go in the wash basket.

I have a bucket with lid that came from mothercare I think.

I put them in a wet bag designed for cloth nappies /wipes

I have a specific laundry basket in the bathroom for used towels, flannels and cleaning cloths, and stick them on at 60 degrees when it's full enough for a load (every 3 or 4 days). No problem with smells unless I leave them for longer than that.

Do people really use a clean flannel each day?

A plastic bag in your main wash basket if you have no space for anything else? Use them, wring as dry as possible and dig for the bag to put them in until they're washed? Mine just go into the main wash basket once wrung out and although they're damp nothing has ever gone mouldy or smells stale because I do a wash every day and just sort them into my once a week towel wash.

Yes, we have dozens of 6" square flannels (were originally washable wipes) and we all use them, easier to chuck in the wash than hang up and reuse and they take up next to no room in the washing machine.

We get through 3 or 4 most days, and I just either leave them over the edge of the bath, the towel rail or the edge of the laundry basket. They soon dry and then just get chucked in the basket to be washed whenever.

Yes. I use a clean flannel each night to take my make up off/cleanse my face. Not much point cleansing if I'm just reintroducing yesterday's muck back onto my face.

yes, 2 each day. one in the shower in the morning and one in the evening to take make up off.
dc use one each in the bath at night.

Just air them (on side of bath or radiator or towel rail etc) and use again the next day.

I use a fresh flannel every time I cleanse as I'm prone to acne and this has helped massively

I used to put mine on the radiators or heated towel rail but over time they turned them rusty! My children's ones hang over the bath at present but I've never known them to attract spiders!
I have just had my ensuite bathroom refitted and am currently on the look out for a fitting a bit bigger than a toilet roll holder to hang them on the splashback by the sink. My Dh bought a small towel holder which was fixed on one end to the wall and has 2 prongs which swing out a bit like an old fashioned tea towel holder, but it was too long to hold just 2 flannels so we didn't put that up so I am still on the hunt. I will let you know if we find one!
I actually thought I was the only one who still used flannels!!

I leave the baby's flannels tp dry on the radiator then they go in the wash basket

I use a clean flannel everyday too for the same reason as OP. They're tiny and no bother to throw in a wash.

I put mind in the laundry basket. Squeeze as much water as I can out after they've been rinsed and then wrap them in a towel that's already in there. Basket gets emptied every 2-3 days anyway. I would think leaving them longer than that might cause a problem. I like the sound of a little plastic bin with a lid though so might get one of those.

I screwed a plastic bag dispenser from Ikea onto the inside of the door of the hot water tank cupboard. We drape wet ones over the edge and they dry with the heat from the hot water tank.

The next day the dry ones are pushed down into the basket and the new wet ones are put over the top edge again. They get washed on a weekly basis.
