blocked sink?

I'm currently living in a rented flat and i seem to have blocked up the sink? The water is starting to back up and fill the sink up. I've tried plunging it but to no avail? Am quiet worried about this i don't really wanan tell the landlord if i can help it, any ideas on how to unblock it please?

Have you unscrewed the u bend trap under the sink?

If you do what Blackberry said, put a bucket or bowl underneath first! And hold your breath...

yeah i would try what blackerry said first and put a bucket underneath, otherwise your going to end up making more mess. Alternatively you could try this drain unblocker
