I have had laundry everywhere for ages and like you I started to tackle it a couple of weeks ago. I just brought everything there was to be washed downstairs and arranged it into huge piles on the table/worktop spaces in the kitchen. I am actually down to 2 piles of not so important stuff but have not done any ironing Things are just being put away and ironed the night before/when needed. With a small toddler and 37wks PG there is only so much i can do even when the nesting instinct kicks in full force!!!

How much do you endeavour to do tonight? Washing, drying and ironing?

snowishere · 30/01/2007 17:15

chacha like you only really iron on demand which is stressful enough when you are trying to get out in the mornings!!
mt d/d5 off school today so we made a game of pairing up all the socks after the big wash of all the laundry if the sock does not show up today they are being dumped. Or could i use them to plump up my sofa cushions a bit!?!

i am folding and putting away whatever does not need ironed towels pj'ys etc... underwear socks teatowels etc... there are piles all over the place lilac pile and pink pile as well as the usual darks and whites.

The worst is d/h shirts he irons them himself they have to go on 60 take longer. so far it has been 40 and time saver so it is surprising how little time it takes.

have to go have been spied on computer

LOL at being spied!!

For 3 years I have had bags of single socks waiting to find their partners!!! It is an ongoing joke in this house. Hate the sock thing.

Hope you get through your laundry, I have the excuse at present of not being able to carry it all up the stairs so that is another plus. I have a washer/dryer so cycle can take forever, often off putting.

Time for DS's tea. Talk later

well girls asleep 3 to 4 more washes to go have given up when d/d 2 spilled her drink all down clean pj's and dressing gown they are just out of w/m and their coats. house smells and looks like chinese laundry oops probably politically incorrect to say that!!!

watching friends now with glass of wine. i know white in fridge had to be finished off their 4 days atleast . so tired. no ironing done again.

it is quite amazing if you catch the clothes just at the right time from tumble dryer you can get away with not ironing a quite a few things.

still have to unload d/w and put in dinner dishes have bath and go to bed. looks like bed is calling up loads of times last night so really need good nights sleep.

forgotten what a good excuse pregnancy is is this your first child?

Well now that DH is home i'm off for a bath and some headspace, absolutely shattered!
Shall join you for more laundry tomorrow Life is great eh?!

snowishere · 30/01/2007 22:09

deal is i am off to work tomorrow and d/h is looking after poorly d/d apparently he is going to do all the ironing ye right!!! he will be on computer and not mumsnet for hours faffing!!!!! i shouldn't really be drinking wine mid week and working tomorrow just he's out with work do so well.

i am not putting on another wash not fair to neighbours ye right!!! and still have to do dishes yuk just want to to go to bed.

that's me get off mumsnet ... there probably wont be another laundry evening like this and then it will be even more so it never ends. pity you couldn't give dirty clothes to charity? that would be handy i know then we would have no clothes. yes the wine is working nite nite
