I have used diluted washing up liquid on the past.
Also sugar soap is good

wowfudge · 18/08/2016 23:41

Sugar soap is brilliant for this. Give the cabinets a wipe over with a clean cloth after you've got the oil off.

iamtheurbanspacemanbaby · 18/08/2016 23:42

Sugar soap is amazing and cheap.

Something called Elbow Grease (i kid you not) pound shops sell it. It is unbelievably good at getting sticky stuff clean and smooth. Such as cooker hoods, all that lovely grease with a fine topping of dust.

Wet a flannel (old one). Smother in fairy liquid. Rub!
Hot water is best. Fairy kills grease. May need to do several times. Lots of fairy!!

Fresh oil works - it dissolves the old dirty sticky oil. Then wipe over with something like fairy/coffee - any cleaner will do to cut thru the new oil. V little scrubbing needed.

littlewoollypervert · 19/08/2016 19:01

Coffee? Cif!

wowfudge · 19/08/2016 20:59

I think Elbow Grease is sugar soap. It's the same colour.

Soda crystals

AliceInHinterland · 19/08/2016 21:11

Make up to a paste with water, spread over, leave a few mins then rub off. Absolutely brilliant.

nickiclarke · 19/08/2016 22:24

This is the cleaner i use when my kitchen cabinets get grease on them and it works a treat.

SusannahD · 19/08/2016 22:27

Cream cleanser works well at shifting grease

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/08/2016 09:02

Sugar soap here too, cheap in wilkos. I think it's a £1.

SnakeWitch · 20/08/2016 09:04

Soda crystals will do it. I love them!

bearofnothingness · 20/08/2016 09:04

Agree with fresh oil it works really well

Fadingmemory · 20/08/2016 09:05

FastWindow · 21/08/2016 19:35

wowfudge that would make sense, im going to look at the bottle. Ive stocked up, in any case, its fab stuff!

FastWindow · 21/08/2016 19:36

Pah, just the usual guff about

gamerchick · 21/08/2016 19:39

Sugar soap, but be warned.. I thought I would do all the tops of the kitchen cupboards and worked down, then noticed that the tiles were minging so did those, then noticed the lower cupboards were minging so had to do those. Sugar soap is cruel.

As other have suggested i would recommend sugar soap. You can purchase a cheap bottle here.
