our playroom has got a wall of fitted cupboards - they're a cheaper version of this - similar style and idea - and same colour, but with a couple of widths of open shelves. what colour do you think we should have the insides of the cupboards? should they be the same red?

Light blue?

I don;t really fancy introducing another colour - it's between something neutral or more red (I think...)

I'd just have it white, dull but safe!

White then, to increase the light inside and make it easier to find stuff.

Persoanlly I love contrasting colours inside, that's why I suggested blue

A grey/drab colour looks good with red

hatwoman · 30/01/2007 10:19

no votes for red then?

A bit much for me, but if you fancy it, go for it, why not?

Do you need to paint them inside at all? If you do then go neutral as red may chip with all the things being pulled in and out daily. I'd personally just paint the outside but i'm a slattern.

Cream

Enid · 30/01/2007 10:29

cream or pale blue

hatwoman · 30/01/2007 13:50

they;re made of crappy green mdf so yes, they definitely need painting. upside is mdf soaks the paint up so shouldn;t think chipping will be a problem
