grouchy you put us all to shame !

I've had next doors wm working hard for me all day (3 loads so far - don't think I can sneak another in while she's out...)
Dh has had to go further afield for work today than planned so we haven't been able to buy a new machine yet...hope to try again tomorrow.

I haven't done a lot today. I've unpacked from our weekend away and put away some washing. Our td has been drying the washing done next door so I'm trying to get that put away before it needs ironing.
Dragged the poor lo's out to the supermarket or we wouldn't have anything for supper this eve (they were very good at coughing and snuffling into their hankies thankfully). Put the shopping away - took about 2 hours what with sorting the kids out with lunch and drinks and entertainment inbetween!

Just about to make kids supper now and get them to bed early - they're both v tired but are fighting it all the way.

Hope everyone's OK - sorry not to have read the whole thread but am time-limited today

Hello!

Grouchy long list again! I know what you mean about money stress. At least you actually manage to save! So good on you for that!!!! My dh is fairly good...he doesn't usually spend too much, its just he has his own business so sometimes the house money gets swallowed up by his business which is quite hardwork when I have food bills and house bills to take care of...but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

shouldbe Hope you get the washing machine soon, and hope your little one's feel a bit better in the morning.

I have been cleaning all day it seems! I need to go to town tommorrow so I'll finish off the last cleaning bits this evening.

Pizza dough is in the breadmaker...just waiting for it to finish so I can make pizza for tea.

See you all in a bit xx

ludaloo I never made pizza dough in my breadmaker before. Is it easy?

ludaloo · 29/01/2007 17:19

EHM Yeh dead easy... you just bung the ingredients in....set it to the dough setting and it does the rest...takes about 1 hour 30 mins, then you just knead it flat and add your toppings.

Do you have a dough setting? I can give you the ingredients if you like

Kids are fed and having a little play before bedtime. Just trying to decide if I have the omph to give them a bath or if I'll just get them to bed....

luda you've been busy! Has the house been restored to normal now? I hope so - the worst bit about visitors is all the tidying up before and afterwards

EHM I don't know if you make your own pizza anyway but pizza dough is dead easy out of the breadmaker too and only takes about an hour - I don't have a bread maker but find it very easy and much cheaper than buying pizza (plus you can customise it to what your lo's will eat - I always blend some spinach into the tomato topping and they don't have a clue )
I often wonder about getting a bread maker - we do make bread sometimes anyway - very good when the lo's are cross as they can knead any bad mood they have out in the dough!

Think I might put them to bed and have the bath myself

grouchyoscar · 29/01/2007 19:33

Shouldbe and EHM - Pizza dough. You don't need the expense of a breadmaker for pizza dough. I make Pizza every friday night and i don't have one. I just make up a basic bread recipie (I use one of the side of the yeast sachets) Leave it to double in size in a warm place then knock the air out and roll it out....Tadah, pizza base! Must admit I do use a kitchen mixer to do the messy mixing and kneading but I have done it all by hand.

Toppings are fun. I always check the deli at the supermarket for things they are selling off as close to use by dates...Salami, pepperoni, dolcelatte cheese etc and put them in the freezer. We've built up quite a stash. We defrost what we need while the dough is rising.

Sauce is just a tin of chopped toms, a good squirt of TP, garlic and herbs

Cheap as chips and really really fab

Bye for now

EHM I don't buy magazines or news papers yet I had loads in my magazine rake. All the free stuff I get through the door. 6 weeks worth of freebie papers. I must have missed the mission for getting rid of old papers and magazines the last time it came round

tort I nearly ran out of electric this morning.I only looked to see if I had enough to last me until Thursday. 54p left. I put £20 on it on Friday of the week before last. So only about 10 days ago. I think my boiler uses just as much electric as it does gas. Its the only item I used more of last week as it was so cold last week. I only use about £10/£12 a week otherwise.

Right Off for my bath as it is all gone quiet with the DC.
