Hand Held Vacuums

Hi, please can somebody recommend me a hand held vacuum cleaner - I'm a bit overwhelmed by the choice and prices out there. Do I need a Dyson? What about voltage? TIA

We've been very happy with our Dyson, it works really well unlike the cheaper "normal" one I remember DGM having. But maybe other manufacturers have caught up now?
