AAAARRGGHHH! What gets tikka masala out of a cream wool carpet????

have already tried 1001 stains and lots of dabbing and absorbing but it is still there!!!
anyone know of any curry specific stain removers??? [hmmm]
ps i could KILL DH! it was right in the middle of Big Brother evictions!!

my sil swears by washing up liquid she says it gets anything out of anything, never tried it myself but you never know it might work.

and also dab it with cold water - good luck

so with the washing up liq, do you make a solution and dab? maybe i shld try it with cold water to be sure!!

i'd put a bit of washing up liquid on a damp cold cloth and rub it together and then dab it onto the carpet

vanish power spray got red wine out of my SILs white sofa

if the washing up liq doesn't work, will try powerspray tomorrow
(DH is on the floor making a balls-up of your simple instructions - i think he does it on purpose so that i will get exasperated watching and go, "OH, LET ME DO IT!!!" i am resisting the temptation...)

according to the new scientist book, it is the curcumin in the turmeric that will stain the carpet yellow... it is soluble in solvents like meths, (or you could try nail polish remover, but try a really small dab first - depends if your carpet is strongly dyed, as it may affect the base colour).

Then needs you need to get sunlight on the stain. Possible??

I have a suggestion for next time. A 'curry rug'. Keep a cheap/old rug rolled up behind the sofa and bring it out when scoffing takeaways on the sofa. This was on a Dame Edna show years ago, she interviewed a family and their worst secret was the curry rug LOL.

My dh did exactly the same last night! I stayed on the sofa and he got out the 1001 stain stuff - the stain seems to have gone now. He did scrub pretty hard!
