Why the fuck isn't the Sudocrem lid child proof?

That is all.

For about the fifth time in the last few months DS (2.3) has made a huge mess with the sudocrem. It's (now) normally out of reach but we have been using it for the last few days.

Argh!!!!!!!!!

I once had a Sudocreame'd TV after leaving it out. That was quite greasy to get off...

Mine just sits on, not even a screw lid! Just pops off if you touch it! Wankers.

I heard that the lid is easy to get off so you can remove the lid one handed say mid nappy change if needed! Clearly this is no use to you sorry!!

MiddleClass, ours is the same. It's ridiculous.

First DS got to the (almost empty) huge tub, then he found the new medium tub, then (in the dark, after bed time, mind you) he found the tiny travel tub which was under a pile of other stuff on the change table shelf and I didn't even realise was there.

If they truly wanted to make it easy for parents it would be in a pump pack with a lockable lid.

My dd3 sudocremed our bedroom lamp. Had to bin them in the end, wouldn't come off

All mine just loved to smear sudocrem over any and every surface they can.

The number of times a lid that I could pop off with one hand would have been useful = 0
The number of times a child-proof lid, preferably with an actual lock would have been useful = at least 20 so far (including an incident today)

It's best to get rid of sudocrem mess with a dry towel, water won't remove it as its designed to be waterproof.

My DD stripped herself naked, covered herself in it, and then rolled on the carpet.

It took me 4 bastard hours to get the stuff out of the navy blue carpet...

I know - totally adorable even while I was gaping like a fish at them! She did this about 5am, I woke up to the smell of sudocreme pervading the house, thinking "what? why can I smell sudocreme?!?"

My DD sudocremed all her teddies arses. Every last one of them. It was one of those bumper size pots.

Just yesterday urgent dash to the loo thinking "oh what could go wrong?" Leaving toddler in front room by himself.

Well, I came out of loo and found an upturned washing basket which was obviously used as a makeshift step ladder, by toddler, to reach for the tub of sudocreme but not only that he had also reached for a pen which was supposed to be high out of reach, and he'd used the pen to spoon out loads and loads of sudocreme then smear it all over our sofa.

I was only in the loo for 30 seconds!

Serious answer? Because it's for bottoms of babies and babies can't open lids.
What I suspect? When toddlers get a hold of it and condition their hair with it or use it to moisturise the cat then you need to go out and buy more. Good for business!

Dear friends toddler covered their leather sofa in sudocreme, she had to buff it off over days. Was the softest sofa I've ever sat on!

Well this brings back memories.... Of staying in a hotel, dd and dp asleep on the bed so I have a quick shower...

And return to the scene of a white massacre.... Do you know how long it takes to clean a hotel room carpet covered in sudocreme with ONLY wet wipes?

Caught DS with the tub again this weekend but luckily it was before any damage had been inflicted.

When will we learn?? Mind you, he thinks nothing of climbing so nowhere is safe, really.

We have been sudocrem mega tub + toddler casualties too! Ds1 got hold of a huge pot, and spread it liberally over the carpet, sofa and himself. Dh's scraped it out of the soft furnishings and carpet with a fish slice, before shampooing it, while I had to shower ds1 three times to get him clean.

One time we were camping (so stuff chucked everywhere in different bags) and my folks woke up to my younger sister brushing her teeth with the stuff and the weirdest look on her face. :D
