My house is 25y old and the upstairs floors creak - and are getting worse. The floor under the carpet is panels of chipboard nailed to the joists.
I'm thinking of doing one room by taking up the carpet and fixing down again - should I glue, nail, screw or even put down sheets of ply wood? If I go through with all the hassle of taking the carpet up I want it done right first time. Does anyone have any experience?
