Any tips on getting the smell of sick out of my DS's bedroom carpet?

Poor little thing has had a D&V bug for about 2 weeks now. Thought we were over and done with it about a week ago so I hired a carpet cleaner and the smell went away. Unfortunately he has had a couple more vomits and I really don't want ot hire the carpet cleaner just for one patch in his bedroom but the smell won't go. Have tried dettol, washing powder, am going to try bicarb today - any other tips?

Poor little chap. 2 weeks sounds a very long time for a D&V bug to go on for. Have you taken him to the doctors?
My DS had what I thought was a 5 day stomach bug & it turned out to be tonsilitis.
Not sure what to use to get rid of the smell, other than bicarb, but hopefully someone in the know will be along soon.
Hope your DS is soon feeling better.

Hi mcDrreamy, this works infact the whole of their product range is amazing. Everything I've tried is just so much better than any other product. This will get rid of the smell. I had sick all ove the car and this got rid of it.

Haven't tried it but heard Zoflora get rid of the smell.

We had a couple staying and their son was sick and they cleaned it with shampoo. Cleaned it up lovely and no smell whatsoever

Wouldn't Zoflora just deal with the vomit smell by overpowering it with a sickly floral fragrance?

Thanks for your advice! Still smelly - might try the shampoo advice next. I'm in Cyprus so a bit limited when it comes to specific brands.

DS much better now all of a sudden he turned a corner. DH is a GP and we were just on the verge of specimens and gaviscon when it all stoppped - yay!! There have been some awful bugs going around here. I thought living in a warm climate, away from the cold would reduce the amount of sickness but it seems to increase it!!!

Anyway all better and shampoo experiment next . Any more tips gratefully received.
