Which coffee machine?

It's my birthday soon and I want to buy myself a coffee machine. There are so many available, can anyone suggest a good one? I'd like to make lattes, cappuccinos etc.

Thanks

This is a very open ended question, it all depends on your budget if you had the money I would recommend a SAGE coffee machine they are amazing! Also depends what you want it to do, do you want to make your own lattes etc in which case you will need a milk wand and jug or do you want the machine to do it all, so you can get some lovely bean to cup machines.

DeLonghi Magnifica S Plus. Bean to cup with a milk frothing arm. We only got it 10 days ago and love it. We had a Nespresso before that, but the coffee had begun to taste drab to us. All the different strength pods tasted the same and this is much cheaper per cup.

another warning to stay away from the Tassimo, we have one and have to make our own milk but the coffee just isn't that nice for the price you have to pay!

I loved my Dualit coffee machine as posted by Olivia up thread but replaced it with a 2nd hand Baby Gaggia which I don't like the look of as much but it does produce a lovely crema every time.
I really dislike the pod machines, I find the coffee a bit weak and hate all of the plastic rubbish they generate.
I enjoy the ritual of preparing the coffee and frothing the milk Brew

one of these. If you really like proper coffee, don't bother with a contraption, go for the real, and cheap, deal

We have a Delonghi Magnifica and love it.

We've had it since Xmas 2012 and have used it every single day and have not a single complaint. (We've descaled it regularly and stick bits of it through the dishwasher sometimes).

Delicious, proper coffee, very easy to clean and use - even my very non-DIY husband has been converted.

Best gadget in the house! But it spoils you - when we go away eg to rented holiday house we miss having decent coffee!

wowfudge · 18/06/2016 05:59

I have been known to take the Nespresso machine on holiday!

I have a Nespresso Latissima Pro. If you use the real Nespresso pods they ARENT plastic so are fully recyclable. DH likes americano and I like latte so this machine keeps us both happy. Also the decaf pods are wonderful... I'm actually hard pressed to taste the difference between the Arpeggio and the Aroeggio decaf!

Delonghi too - the same one as soup - m.johnlewis.com/de-longhi-ec680-dedica-pump-espresso-coffee-machine/red/p/1521264?s_afcid=af_78888&awc=1203_1467698600_2cc4c56d16c3c5e70453d3cdd460d304#

Absolutely love it - simple and beautiful.

Just out of interest, which magnifica do you have - is it one of these?

or

Can't make up my mind which one to go for.
