Urgent help! Fungus?

saskdilemma · 27/05/2016 15:20

I've just went into my nephews bathroom and he's got this on the shower bottom. His parents ( who are foreign) doesn't think it's a big problem. He always has a chest infection or some sort but if it's a fungus or something else... Perhaps it's causing the infections.

My question is what's the best way to get rid of this stuff permanently on a diy basis?

It's mould- HG bleach will get rid of it. Long term you need to dry after every shower and ventilate well.

Does the Dettox really work ? I've tried neat bleach but it has no effect at all as it the mould seems to be inside the sealant.

Strip off the sealant and replace with one that has a mould inhibitor.
Scrub the grouting with bleach and tell them to up the ventilation and heating.

Sativa how long are you leaving bleach on?

Bicarb and bleach mixed into a paste works well too, leave on all day but with window open and door shut as it's strong.

Sorry for the delay! I've left bleach on for hours skivvywoman.
There's no window in the bathroom so could I still try the paste ?

The Dettox does work, yes. But I've never let mine get as bad as your photos, so I can't say for sure it works on that amount.
