Silly question but how and where do you keep handbags? Mine are turning into gremlins and getting everywhere?

I'm not even that high maintenance, but have a selection of bags that are hung from bed posts, left on the ground, shoved into cupboards. Is there a sensible way to store them?

Mine are on the wardrobe floor How about one of those things you hang up, that are canvas and they makes moxes/shelves? If you have any idea what i'm on about x

Quootiepie · 16/01/2007 12:31

*boxes

oranges · 16/01/2007 12:32

ooh yes, I have one of those, but each bag would take up a whole 'mox' which is not very efficient. And I have shoes on my wardrobe floor.

ah right What about an underbed storage box?

oranges · 16/01/2007 12:38

but I want to see them - if they are stowed away under a box, I'll never use them.

Series of attractive hooks on wall/door. Can arrange vertical/horizontal/diagonal line whatever, hang a bag per hook, you'll be able to see them but they'll be in one place and 'safe'...

Bumping as I have this problem.
I saw something on the TV where Sharon Osbourne was finding Hermes Kelly bags that she'd forgotten she even had as all her bags were on a shelf above the hanging rails in her walk in wardrobe.
I would like to have a walk in wardrobe. I don't even have a bedknob as we have a divan.

caffeinequeen · 16/01/2007 12:43

Yorkshirelass are you Sharon osbourne?

littlemissbossy · 16/01/2007 12:43

in clear under bed storage boxes could work, if you want to see them/find them easily

Quootiepie · 16/01/2007 12:45

you could have lidless boxes?

princessmel · 16/01/2007 12:46

I keep my current one on the banister at bottom of the stairs and any others live on a shelf iny wardrobe. Its quite deep and fat. Its in one of the Ikea wardrobes where you put the shelves where you like.
Or get one of those things that you hang on a door for shoes and put a bag in each slot thing.

JonesTheSteam · 16/01/2007 12:52

We have a cupboard on the landing upstairs in which all the coats are kept. Handbags are in a box on the floor of the cupboard.

tracyk · 16/01/2007 12:54

What about clear storage boxes - on top of wardrobe or on wardrobe floor? I got clear shoe boxes for shoes and they are a godsend.

oranges · 16/01/2007 13:23

I like the hooks idea. I think that boxes will end up unused, somehow.

I have recently sorted out my wardrobe which was just too cramped. I have put all my bags in a suitcase under the bed. This is still currently in the experimental stage.

In one of my wardrobes there is a drawer unit in the bottom half. My bags are 'lined up' all along the top of the drawer unit.

oranges · 16/01/2007 15:21

oh, drawer is a good idea. I have one I could empty quite easily. Can you tell this is a quiet day? I've never thought so much about storage in my life.

Mine are thrown in the bottom of the wardrobe. I see I'm not the only one. If my husband never came home I would leave them on the floor in the hall, but he's always complaining about my 'clutter' so I have to hide it.

oranges · 16/01/2007 15:39

My 9 month old ds has got into the habit of putting them on his head and crawling round giggling madly which is why I need to get them OFF the floor. Every time I look down, I see another handbag whizz past.

Mine are also on a shelf in my wardrobe.
