Hello we are hoping to move out of our (rented) place soon and hoping to get out deposit back (yeah like that's going to happen!). SO I need some help need to give bathroom, kitchen etc a really good clean are things like cillit bang any good? Anyone care to recommend a magic toilet cleaner? Do other renters think paying for a professional clean is worth while? Deposit about 1500 but live in London so mega bucks just to get anyone throught the door never mind do any work!!

we rent too....I have to admit, we pay for the carpets to be cleaned when we leave a house. We have also had one house in the past where the cooker wasn't ours, and we had someone in to do that before we left.(we will also have to re-wall paper the bottom half of the lounge as the sofa has ripped a strip off!

Other than that I think just a good cleaning by yourself should be sufficient. I clean toilets (cillit bang is horrid stuff but it does work a treat)Kitchen cupboards etc a good scrub with a kitchen cleaner should work ok. As far as a good toilet cleaner goes...I have never found one!! It usually involves rubber gloves...a scouring pad and elbow grease to get the limescale off

(I'll be watching this thread now...for any good ideas!)

Thanks guys cillit bang it will be thought you bunged it down the toilet too. I'm so not looking forward to the rubber gloves and scourer bit. Anyone know where you can got those extra long ones ? (like fishermans wellies!)
