Sensor burglar alarms and cats?............help please!

We move house soon and the house we are moving into has an alarm with sensors with a red flashing light in nearly every room. We have 2 cats who are used to coming and going through a cat flap, will they set the alarm off? The people there at the moment don't have pets and didn't install the alarm themselves, so can't answer this for us. Any thoughts?

We used to have a British Gas alarm system. When we used to cat sit we had to disarm the sensors where the cat would roam. There were sensors on the main doors so we weren't too bothered. Some alarms are 'pet friendly'. Find out the make and model of the alarm and phone the company.
