Novice composter - where to store waste before it goes on the compost heap?

I've started with a smallish lidded bucket in the cupboard under the sink. I'm intending to empty this once a day into a plastic lidded box kept outside, which will be carted off to our allotment once or twice a week in winter, more often in summer. Anyone have any better ideas? We don't want to have 2 bins on the kitchen floor or any more clutter in the house.

I think this is the Lakeland one - doesn't look very big though.

Aha! Cheaper, anyway.

Thanks both of you. I think I'll stick with our plastic bucket under the sink for the time being, if I empty it daily there shouldn't be a problem with smells.
