Arghhh

We have just had our last Bill through - based on my real readings - total of £800 for the year????

Where am I going wrong?

I have all the energy efficient bulbs and purchased more energy efficient white goods when they needed replacing, I constantly nagg everyone to tuen ligts/tV off etc

Are prices just high?

I check again with u-switch and we are on the cheapest/best tariff with the best company.

What I want to know - is it worth going over to economy seven? Are the tariffs cheaper?

I can set my washing machine to timer etc over night.

According to this months prima Mag you can save by doing this

Switch of standby tv,hifi,pc save 133.51 pa
Turn down thermostat by 1 degree 49.44
swap 5 lightbulbs for energy saving ones 33.27
boil just the amount of water you need 30.50
only use full dishwasher 15.36
washing on 40 degrees instead of 60 12.72
unplug mobile phone charger 5.00

total saving approx 275.00

Great suggestions from UCM. I do all the dishwasher/dryer and washing after 12 midnight on economy 7. Its almost half price for elec after midnight, really worth changing.

We have a small 2 bed house and we only use £20 to 30 max of electricty per month on a key meter so its really easy to see what we are using. But we have gas heating. What about fitting timers to do things overnight? We also do all washing on a 30 degree wash and only tumble dry what we have to.(8 loads of washing and only dry linen, towels and hubby's work clothes) The rest we hang overnight in the kitchen near the radiator and it dries fine.

Is it less after midnight on all suppliers?Never knew that am often up at that time so will deffo do washing and drying then if that is the case.
