Can't get glue off school jumper

Never noticed it before sticking it in the washing machine and it came out covered - lots of little sticky blobs.

Have tried scrubbing/picking it off, have tried vanish, also white spirit.

Not sure what type of glue it is. Any ideas?

If it's pva glue (usually is at school) then the hot water will have set it - it does rinse off with cold water but only if you spot it in time - sorry. DS2 has it all over his blazer cuffs.

Thanks JanH. Someone else told me to iron it with newspaper over the top. The glue sticks to the paper. Its worked

Really? What a useful tip - I will attack DS's blazer tonight if I can find my iron (I have one somewhere )
