tumble dryer recommendations

My absolutely useless Hoover candy tumble dryer is about to tumble its last. Never buying another Hoover again, but can't live without a tumble dryer. Don't want to break the bank when replacing. Are beko any good?? Needs to be a condenser dryer. Thanks for your collective wisdom!

My sister has a Beko washer and dryer and sings both their praises. Funnilly enough, she used to have a Hoover and never liked it.

I imagine beko are better than hotpoint. Currys are doing a heat pump one for £349 at the moment.

I bought a Beko silver sensor dryer in January and it is absolutely amazing. Could not be without it and was only £220

Anything's got to be better than a Hotpoint. Ours was horrific.
Best dryer we ever had was a bog standard vented White Knight, but we've got no vent where we are now so had to replace it.

I was going to say a Hoover as I have just bought a 10kg Hoover condenser dryer and I love it. But I have just got rid of a small vented dryer (3kg) which was 10 years old and still going strong! Only sold as I was sick of having the window open to dry and it was so small for a family of four. I don't know whether the new White Knights are still that good but would maybe worth a look.

White knight still do gas powered tumble dryers, they're really cheap to run.

I've got a white knight spin dryer, it's a little work horse machine.

We had a Hotpoint which was brilliant - one of the ones on the safety recall, but never had an issue with it. We had the modification done on it and have given it away as there was already a condensing dryer in our new house. That is a Zanussi and seems to work well. My two gripes with it are that there is a second fluff filter in the door opening and if you don't diligently clean it before you take the load out, the stuff gets covered in fluff plus you push on the door to open it and this doesn't work very well.

Fluffycloudland77, are spin dryers worth it? My Mum had one years ago but her washer back then was only an 800 spin (which was the norm at the time). My washer is a 1400 spin, would it really make that much difference?

Yes, it spins at 2800rpm. I get a pint, sometimes two out of washes. My machine spins at 1200.

It's much cheaper to spin water out than tumble straight from the machine.

Thanks for that, that's good to know. Obviously chepaer than using the dryer as there's no heater in them. I might have to look into them :)
